When we originally set up OneDrive, we had problems when I set the files and shared them with the Mac users. They were unable to sync the files. There were also some file name protocol issues.

For Directors, you can assign Full Control permission at the Document library level via library settings->permissions for this document library.

For Staff members and Contractors, you can assign Read/Edit/Full Control permissions at the relevant folders via right click the folder->Details->Manage access->Advanced->Stop Inheriting Permissions->assign the relevant permissions to users.
