This is driving me nuts - can anybody help? I have a single search server express 2008 instance on Windows Server 2003 running MOSS 2007.
This is indexing our company data on a network file share of the form \\server\path
Some of the data indexes fine. Then the server starts producing:
The server is unavailable and could not be accessed. The server is probably disconnected from the network.
for some (lots - thousands) of the files. It's crazy. It will index some files in a directory and not others - it seems to be completely arbitrary. If I click on the link to the file it says is unavailable, the file opens perfectly. The two servers are both on the same Gigabit switch, next to one another in the rack- so it isn't a bandwidth issue.
Can anyone help? At the moment, up to two-thirds of our data is not being indexed - which makes the search facility unusable.
