in our enviroment we have two standard lists.

One list with 5546 items (List A) and the other list with 59397 items (List B). In List B I can create a "All Items" list view, but in List A sharepoint says "This view cannot be displayed because it exceeds the list view threshold (5000 items) enforced by the administrator". The lists are in the same site collection.

My question is: Why does this error only occur in List A? List B is the larger list and there the error does not occur. I could increase the Threesold List View Limit, but I would like to know why this error only occur in List A.

If you really are returning all items, is this a standard list IN SharePoint? Could it be a query instead?
