Does anyone know which group I can browse in order to learn how to deploy software across workstations?

I have no clue on how this is done, what I would like to learn is how to write your own program that will remotely install software from your workstation to other workstations across the network.

There are programs out there that does it, but there is always something missing or not running properly in those programs.
