OsDisk上没有空间，无法增加磁盘大小

When I created my Linux VM the OsDisk size defaulted to 30 GB. I reached the 30GB limit and want to increase the size of the disk to 64 GB. I made the change in the console. When I ssh into my VM it still shows the disk size as 30GB and says I have no space left.I've done this 3-4 times before on other VMs and never had an issue. Any idea what the problem is now?P.S.
