I am trying to create a my own mailserver which will have most of the features of enterprise level mailservers. But, I have no idea where to begin. I have been searching for quite some time to sort this but end up nowhere. Can somebody please guide me where to begin this project and how to proceed? What are the things I should keep in mind? I am going to use vb.net 2008.
The basic idea is, i will host my mailserver on my local system, configure my domain here on my mailserver, access mails through webmail or any other mail client, will have a static ip linked to my mailserver, send receive mails through my own mail server.
