This part is talking about planning.Planing determines what needs to bedone,who will do it ,how long it will take,and how much it will cost.
1.Clearly define the project objective.
2.Divide and subdivide the project scope into major"pieces,",or workpackages. WBS(work breakdown structure)
3.Define the specific activities that need to be performed for each workpackage in order to accomplish the project objective.
4.Graphically portray the activities in the form of a network diagram.
5.Make a time estimate for how long it will take to complete each activity.
6.Make a cost estimate for each activity.
7.Calculate a project schedule and budget to determine whether the project canbe completed within the required time,with the allotted funds,and with theavailable resources. (baseline plan.)
Critical success factors

6.The key to effective project control is measuring actual progress andcomparing it to planned progress on a timely and regular basis and takingcorrective action immediately,if necessary.
7.After the conclusion of a project,the project performance should be evaluatedto learn what could be improved if a similar project were to be done in thefuture.Feedback should be obtained from the customer and the project team.
